Most elastomers are poor barriers to air, oxygen and moisture, as seen in the charts below. By comparison, TOPAS Elastomer E-140 is an outstanding barrier. And as a polyolefin material, it adheres to, and is compatible with, most other polyolefins. It is used commercially both in blends and as a single layer, and can also be coextruded and overmolded.
